SAN JOSE, California - November 19, 2001: Resolution Health, Incorporated (RHI), a healthcare information technology company devoted to improving the quality of care delivered by health plans, announced today that it has named Earl Steinberg, MD, MPP as President of RHI. Dr. Steinberg, a nationally recognized expert in medical practice evaluation, quality assessment, and quality improvement, succeeds Matthew Cutler, who had been serving as interim President of RHI since April 2001.

Formerly RHI's Vice President of Industry Affairs and R&D, Dr. Steinberg has been responsible for guiding the development of RHI's proprietary medical analysis, reporting and communication technologies over the past year. With the company's products now operating in the marketplace, Dr. Steinberg takes on the role of President to accelerate adoption of RHI's technology and services in the marketplace and help attract additional equity investment as the company seeks to increase its R&D as well as its marketing efforts.

Harry Soza, a co-founder of the firm, remains as RHI's Sr. Vice President, Strategic Products; Ann Ahmadi, the other co-founder of the firm, remains as Sr. Vice President of Products and Services; and Jim Frankfort, MD remains as Director of Informatics and Chief Medical Officer.

RHI's Executive Management Team Recent Appointments

Earl Steinberg - President
Earl P. Steinberg, M.D., M.P.P. is a nationally known expert in evaluation and improvement of the quality and efficiency of health care. In addition to serving as President of RHI, Dr. Steinberg is a member of Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association's National Medical Advisory Panel, on which he has served for 10 years, an Adjunct Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Health Policy and Management at Johns Hopkins University and a member of the Advisory Council of Harvard Medical School's Department of Health Care Policy. Prior to joining RHI, Dr. Steinberg spent five years as Vice President of Covance Health Economics and Outcomes Services Inc., Director of its Quality Assessment and Improvement Systems (QAIS) Division, and Co-Director of its Outcomes Studies Group (OSG) and four years on the Federal Physician Payment Review Commission (PPRC).

Dr. Steinberg's primary focus in recent years has been on 1) design, implementation, and management of systems for measuring the content, outcomes and quality of care delivered by health care providers, and 2) the development of tools, such as computerized decision support systems, disease management programs, and physician- and/or patient- targeted programmatic interventions, that can improve the cost-effectiveness of care. While at Covance, Dr. Steinberg helped design and implement several computerized disease- and procedure-specific national registries. He also led the teams that developed two HEDIS measures (health plan performance in 1) control of hypertension and 2) counseling of women on options for management of menopause), as well as the National Kidney Foundation's guidelines for management of patients with end stage renal disease.

Prior to joining Covance, Dr. Steinberg was Professor of Medicine and of Health Policy and Management at Johns Hopkins University, and Director of The Johns Hopkins Program for Medical Technology and Practice Assessment. While at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Steinberg was the Principal Investigator on the federally-funded Patient Outcome Research Team (PORT) devoted to evaluation of variation in management of cataracts and their relationship to patient outcomes.

Dr. Steinberg received his A.B. degree from Harvard College (Summa Cum Laude), his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and a Master of Public Policy degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard (first in his class). His residency training in internal medicine was performed at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Steinberg has received numerous awards, including the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation Faculty Scholar Award in General Internal Medicine (1984), an award given "to support exceptionally talented young faculty in general internal medicine", and the "Outstanding Young Investigator" Award from the Association for Health Services Research (1988). He also is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the Academy for Health Services Research and Health Policy.

Gary Yurkovich - Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Mr. Yurkovich has an outstanding track record managing high technology companies. He is currently president of Strategems Management, a high tech management consulting firm. In this role, Mr. Yurkovich has founded or served as senior executive on a number of high technology companies. He is also Managing Director of I Care Community Associates, the venture firm funding Resolution Health.

Mr. Yurkovich was previously Vice-President Sales, Service and Support for Creo Products. In just three years, he grew sales from $8M to over $125M while expanding his staff from 15 to 250 people. Prior to Creo, he held a variety of management positions in a number of geographies with Digital Equipment Corporation. At Digital, Mr. Yurkovich was recognized for top worldwide performance 6 times, a record matched by only 2 other employees in company history. Mr. Yurkovich served as the leader of the Medical Systems Group within Digital Equipment of Canada and is an active member of COACH - Canada's Health Informatics Association.

Chris Hill - Vice President, Finance & Administration
Mr. Hill, CMA, has extensive finance and management experience in the technology sector. He held numerous positions over a ten year period with Telus Corporation, Canada's second largest telecommunications company, and was responsible for the financial management of that company's $250M Internet Services Division. More specifically, Mr. Hill had direct responsibility for the billing of a 500,000 Internet Service subscriber base and had significant involvement in developing Telus' xDSL high speed business plan. Prior to this, he and his team were responsible for supporting the entire budget and planning process for a 12,000 employee company with annual revenue of $2.5B revenue.

After leaving Telus, Mr. Hill joined a startup technology company as CFO, and recently founded a management services company, KPI Management Inc. Through this company, Chris provides turnkey finance and administrative solutions to the small business and technology venture market.
